Ahh, the sunshine.  It's where I grew up in Panama City, Fl, it's where I call home in Tampa, FL, and it's where my heart will always be.  I never feel quite comfortable if I'm more than an hour's drive from the ocean.  My good friend Jeff Baker and I (another beach bum who happens to write amazing songs) had so much fun just coming up with all the things we love about summer and the coast.  Me: What else is great about the beach? Jeff: Um, dudes with shades on trying to act as though they aren't looking at the hot girls? Me: Exactly...

My brother absolutely insisted I record this song that I wrote when I was broke and working a crappy job I hated in Nashville in my early years of music.  He said that this one is about the real me, and that others can relate.  So Josh, thanks for the nudge to make this one real.  I have found it to be truer and truer every time I play it.  This one's for everyone who realizes that hard work is the only way to success in anything  :)

What can you say?  Sometimes things don't go as you planned in life, and you end up being lost without someone.  Thankfully, I wasn't feeling lost at all when I wrote this, but I understand through various times in my life what it's like to feel that ache when you miss someone so much it burns to your core.  A special thanks to my dear friend Kara in Tampa who told me one time I made her "feel like a lady when I kissed her cheek."  It's one of my favorite lines ever.

Story

I have played at many weddings throughout my life, and I'm always amazed at the first dance song.  Sometimes for good, sometimes not so much...  Still, I love that moment very much.  Two people, all eyes on them, and no one else in the room.  That's the pure and simple reason I wrote this song along with Jeff.  It's just about that moment where you lose yourself completely in another person.

Story

Thanks to my great and insanely talented friend Danny Rader and his co-writer Becca Bramlett for penning this one.  Even though I didn't write it, I get it!  Here's a little advice ladies and gentleman: marry your best friend.  I love singing this live every time!

Story

When I moved to Tampa in 2006, I had a problem.  I was still hung up on a girl I had dated a long time ago.  She came to visit, and I felt like every time she moved my heart stopped.  Problem was, she didn't feel the same about me, but enjoyed my friendship.  I sat alone in my apartment after she left to go back across the country to her existing life, and I really just let out song after song filled with thoughts of my feelings for her.  This one turned out great, and thanks to her, bobby pins next to ANY sink will always conjure up that time in my life.

UPDATE: I got to spend time with her a few years back, and we talked and laughed and have both completely reconciled anything that was ever bad or hurtful between us.  Funny how life moves forward.  I married the best girl in the world, and if I could go back and do it all over again I'd do the exact same things. :)
